Suspect leads police to body believed to be that of missing woman

She was last seen on Jul 11 at 9:15pm around Fusionopolis Walk at one-north in Buona Vista.

When Ms Cui Yajie, 31, an engineer, did not show up for work the next day, her colleagues felt something was amiss.

2 days later, they filed a missing person report. The police made a public appeal for her whereabouts the next day.

PRC engineer allegedly demanded marriage before she was murdered

A 48-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday (July 20) after he allegedly murdered 31-year-old Chinese national Ms Cui Yajie. Ms Cui worked as an engineer in Mediatek, a local semiconductor company in Fusionopolis. She was last seen alive on July 11 at about 9.15pm in her office.

The police received a missing person report on the 14 July and managed to identify the suspect on 20 July. The arrested him on the same day. The suspect, Leslie Khoo Kwee Hock, led police to Lim Chu Kang Lane 8 later that night, where they found Ms Cui’s body on a deserted road near dairy farms.

Khoo was charged on 21 Jul for the the murder of the woman. He allegedly killed her between 8am and 10.11am last Tuesday at Gardens by the Bay East in Marina Bay. He did not use any weapons to commit the murder.

Four unnatural deaths in just a few days

Two days after the report of an unnatural death in Jalan Besar, another happened in Boat Quay. The murder which happened on 13 Jul, was reported by the police yesterday (18 Jul). The murder in Boat Quay is the fourth reported in series of murders or unnatural deaths, which are all unrelated to the other.

Police said that a 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and that he has been involved in a fight with a 55-year-old man. The injured man was conveyed unconscious to Singapore General Hospital, and was pronounced dead at 4.48pm on Saturday (16 Jul).

Police said it was alerted to the incident at a pub along Boat Quay last Wednesday (July 13) at 5.28am, and arrested the accused on Monday.

Man stabbed to death in Jalan Besar

After the unnatural death of a man in Geylang and another in Yishun, yet another has happened in just a few short days. STOMP reported that a man was stabbed in front of Jalan Bear hostel late on Monday (11 Jul) night.

The incident happened outside The Trey Hostel along Jalan Besar at about 11.20pm, and according to eyewitnesses, two men were seen fighting outside the KTV pub beside the hostel.

The two men were heard shouting at each other before one of them stabbed the other with what seemed to be a knife.

A man was found dead after allegedly being stabbed by another man outside The Trey Hostel along Jalan Besar at about 11:20pm on Jul 11 2016. Stomp was at the scene.

According to 2 eyewitnesses, who were in the area when the incident happened, they saw two men fighting outside the KTV pub beside the hostel. The 2 men were heard shouting at each other before one of them stabbed the other with what seemed to be a knife.

Argument over money turns into fatal stabbing at Jalan Besar

The 2 men came out of the Jalan Besar KTV lounge last night, quarrelling loudly.

The argument got so intense, they had to be separated by a friend.

Things then turned bloody as 1 man allegedly stabbed the other in the chest with a knife. The man died from his injuries.

In less than 24 hours, another man was killed in Singapore on Saturday (Jul 9)

Police were alerted to a call at 7:57pm, requesting for assistance at Blk 279 Yishun Street 22.

Upon arrival, a 26-yr-old man was found lying motionless at the said location, police said in a statement.

Man found dead at Yishun, 20-year-old suspect arrested

A 26-yr-old man was found dead outside a unit on the 6th floor at Block 279 Yishun Street 22 on Saturday (Jul 9).

A 20-yr-old male suspect was arrested in connection to the case, said the police.

The police were first alerted at 7:57pm requesting for assistance, and paramedics pronounced the man dead at 8:29pm. Police investigations are ongoing.

Police warn against public speculation in Yishun death case

The police have advised the public to refrain from commenting or speculating on the case of a man being found dead in Yishun on Saturday (Jul 9).

In a news release on Monday, police said a "thorough investigation" into the unnatural death is ongoing and that people are free to comment on the matter after the "full and true" facts are established in court.

Laying out the timeline of the case, police said it received a call at 7:57pm on Saturday requesting for assistance at Block 279, Yishun St 22.

Man found dead in Geylang
The prolonged and open display of Mr Niu-ge's body prompted outrage from his relative, who arrived on the scene at 12:30pm

The body of a man was found in a pool of blood at Geylang Lor 23 on Saturday morning (Jul 9).

The police said in a statement that they received a call at 8:00am requesting for assistance at Lorong 23 Geylang.

"Upon arrival, a 52-yr-old man was found lying motionless at the said location and he was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene at about 8:11am," the police said.

Murder at Geylang: Why was body left in open for so long?

A 52-yr-old coffeeshop helper, known as Niu-ge, was found dead after a fight at Lorong 23 Geylang yesterday at 8:00am.

5 hours later, his bloodied corpse, which had visible injuries to the face, was lying on the road and his head was resting on the kerb.

Witnesses say the body was initially covered with a white cloth and a blue tent.

A Stomper shared the photos with Stomp at about 9:30am, saying that the incident just happened today (Jul 9).

The photos show that the incident happened at Lorong 23 Geylang, near the junction of Geylang Road.

Fifth unnatural deaths this month

On 21 Jul, the remains of a missing woman was found in Lim Chu Kang and a 48-year-old man was arrested for murder.

On 18 Jul, the Police arrested a 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and that he has been involved in a fight with a 55-year-old man on 13 Jul. The injured man was conveyed unconscious to Singapore General Hospital, and was pronounced dead at 4.48pm on Saturday (16 Jul).

On Jul 11, a man was stabbed to death in front of Jalan Bear hostel. No arrests have been made and the case has been classified as murder.

On Jul 9, a badly bruised and bloodied body of a 26-year-old man was found along the corridor of the sixth floor of Block 279 Yishun Street 22. Police have classified the case as an unnatural death and has arrested a suspect.


On 9 Jul, a 52-year-old coffeeshop helper was found dead after a fight at Lorong 23 Geylang. Police arrested a 64-year-old man for this murder.

Recent Murders in Heartland Singapore
